'Back to back' Bedworth bypass traffic after car 'spun around' in crash

Passing paramedics came to the aid of a driver after spotting a crash close to the Bedworth bypass. It had taken place on the slip road coming from the town on to the A444.

Passers-by spotted police and an ambulance at the scene earlier this afternoon (July 10). One reported that the car had 'spun around'.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed to CoventryLive that a passing ambulance came across the incident at just after 2pm. They found one patient, a woman.

"A passing ambulance came across a single car RTC on the A444 near Smarts Road in Bedworth at 2.08pm," a WMAS spokesperson said. "One woman from the car was described as ‘walking wounded’ and declined ambulance assessment."

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said that they received a 999 call to report a 'car had spun on the A444' . Officers were sent to the scene.

As a result of the incident, motorists reported being stuck in 'back to back' traffic in the area.
