Back to the Future is getting the Christmas countdown started obscenely early this year with a new piece of merchandise.

To celebrate the movie's 35th anniversary, Playmobil is releasing a limited-edition advent calendar, which features classic scenes from the 1980s films.

Behind every door of the calendar is a surprise gift, ranging from figures and animals to vehicles and accessories, which should keep children (or, let's face it, fully grown adults) entertained in the days leading up to Christmas.

To top it off, once all of the surprises have been discovered, the box then unfolds into a backdrop to complete the iconic town hall scene.

With the help of this calendar, you can recreate a host of iconic scenes from the franchise, including the skateboard chase routine and Marty McFly and Doc Brown's time travel antics in the Twin Peaks mall carpark.

And of course, you'll be able to harness the lightning (not literally) and channel it into the flux capacitor as Marty races towards the clock tower.

Each calendar also includes a picture with lenticular effect, so you can watch the McFly family disappear before your very eyes.

Available to pre-order from Zavvi, The Hut, I Want One Of Those and Smyths Toys for £29.99, it'll be officially released on October 9, 2020.
