Production on the Bad Boys spin-off L.A.'s Finest has been halted after the co-creators were injured in an on-set accident.

Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier were hurt while filming the project starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union when a stunt went wrong on Thursday (February 21).

The pair were taken to separate Los Angeles hospitals, with Margolis reportedly being discharged the same day.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the accident occurred during a driving stunt sequence when a vehicle collided with a set object and injured both co-creators.

"Our hearts go out to our SPT family members who were injured and we pray for a full recovery,” said Sony Pictures Television president Jeff Frost and co-presidents Chris Parnell and Jason Clodfelter in a statement.

The spin-off series of the Bad Boys franchise previously faced being cancelled before even airing, but was eventually picked up by the streaming platform Spectrum.

In response to the incident, Spectrum said in a statement: "We are saddened by this incident and send our most heartfelt wishes to our two beloved crew members, hoping their recovery is both swift and complete."

L.A.'s Finest follows Syd Burnett (Union), who was last seen in Bad Boys II, as she leaves her past behind to become an LAPD detective. She's soon paired up with working mum Nancy McKenna (Alba) as the two of them take on the city's most dangerous criminals.
