BAFTAs: Claudia Winkleman Jokes About 'Going Out For Five Days’ After Strictly Come Dancing Win
It was a big night for Strictly Come Dancing at last night’s TV BAFTAs (May 8), with the brilliant ballroom show picking up the award for Best Entertainment Programme.
Even better, it was the programme’s very first BAFTA, with hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman explaining just how shocked they were as they took to the stage to collect the accolade.

Congratulations, Strictly!
Starting the speeches, Tess told the crowd that they were ‘genuinely shocked’ to be picking up the BAFTA, admitting: “We were talking earlier and we both probably thought Adele at the BBC would’ve won because it’s brilliant.
“In fact, my daughter said to me today, ‘No offence, mum, but you’ve got no chance’.
“This is the most incredible honour, we have never won a BAFTA before, this is our first BAFTA! And it honestly means the world to all of us, so thank you so much to everybody at BAFTA.”

The hilarious Claudia then came to the mic, joking: “I really am regretting the three tequilas. Huge thanks to the producers, the judges and our amazing dancers, we cannot believe it. We’re going out for five days after this.”
Mind if we tag along, guys?
