The Great British Bake Off viewers were left seriously confused by teacakes on last night's (September 12) Bread Week episode.
In the signature task, the hopeful bakers were set a challenge to create teacakes with fruit in them, only some viewers had VERY different opinions on what exactly a teacake should be.
Some thought the bakers were going to deliver delicious marshmallow on top of a biscuit smothered in chocolate, like a Tunnock's tea cake, while Yorkshire viewers were annoyed they had fruit in them at all.
Basically, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith couldn't win whatever teacake they set the bakers to make.
That tea cake nonsense. Away wi' ya. Tea cakes are floofy marshmallows covered in chocolate. #GBBO- Caro Knott (@Caro_K87) September 12, 2017
More northern racism on #GBBO, teacakes don't have fruit in. Fruit tea cakes do.- Stephen Brogden (@SBrogden14) September 12, 2017
Teacakes on #GBBO this week but they just made loads of fruity bread instead??]]>🤔
