This Bake Off audience member just disgusted us all

The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice suddenly got a bit twisted tonight (September 21) as one studio audience member showed off her 'breastmilk and vanilla' cheesecake.

The live crowd were encouraged to bring their own unique cakes to this evening's show, and it was comic Tom Allen's job to weave through them and interview their bakers.

Although one woman's vanilla cheesecake creation initially looked simple and unassuming, Tom was informed by its baker that it had a rather unusual flavour – actual breastmilk! – immediately sparking a reaction from the show's panel.

Predictably, the world of Twitter was also quick to latch on to the strange events unfolding.

Episodes star Stephen Mangan featured on the panel, and while he was told "there wasn't enough time" to try the cheesecake (darn it!), he still found a quick opportunity to drop a joke.

"We're lactating intolerant!" he quipped, which was clearly enjoyed by one viewer.

Later on, beloved GBBO star Liam Charles made a return to the screen as host Jo Brand invited him onto the follow-up show. It's fair to say Liam's appearance went down a treat with viewers at home.

We miss you, Liam!

The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice continues next Friday (September 28) at 8pm on Channel 4.
