In yet another sign that the BBC's Bake Off era is well and truly over, spin-off Bake Off: Crème de la Crème will be jumping to Channel 4 next year as well.

A Channel 4 representative confirmed to Digital Spy on Thursday (October 19) that the competition for professional pastry chefs will be moving channels for its third series.

It's not known yet if Bake Off: Crème de la Crème judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden or host Angus Deayton will be staying on board.

Crème de la Crème stayed behind last year when Channel 4 signed a multi-year deal to air parent series The Great British Bake Off, with its second run on BBC Two finishing up this past spring.

The BBC went all out to tout Crème de la Crème earlier this year by hiring Angus Deayton as the new presenter. Liam Grime and his squad of RAF chefs ultimately triumphed over a team from Cardiff's Cocorico Patisserie in the May finale.

Channel 4 will be airing the semi-finals of Crème de la Crème's revamped parent series The Great British Bake Off next week, as judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith narrow down the bakers once more.

This week, it was also announced that Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson will be the first celebrity contestant lined up for a charity Bake Off spin-off to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer.

So, clearly Channel 4 is going all in on making The Great British Bake Off its new flagship franchise!

The Great British Bake Off airs its semi-finals next Tuesday (October 24) on Channel 4 at 8pm.
