Bake Off Nadiya's new show is a wild ride for viewers

Nadiya's British Food Adventure got off to a very yummy (and bumpy) start on Monday night (July 17).

The latest charming cookery show from Great British Bake Off's best-ever winner Nadiya Hussain is a culinary Grand Tour right to the heart of British food, one region at a time.

In Monday night's premiere episode, Nadiya visited the home counties as she learned all about the art of cold-smoking in Milton Keynes, harvested some asparagus in Oxford and got stuck in on an Eton Mess.

Along the way, she practically earned a Blue Peter badge for building her own smoker out of cardboard and nearly turned British Food Adventure into Top Gear with a buggy race through the asparagus fields.

Viewers at home were utterly charmed as usual by Nadiya's warm presenting style and were understandably left feeling hungry as she whipped up cheese scones, stir fry and smoked haddock Welsh rarebit:

Did you know asparagus can grow five inches a day? Ooooh, behave!

If your engines are only starting to rev up, you'll be able to follow Nadiya Hussain on her trek through the best of British cuisine all through the summer.

The second of Nadiya's British Food Adventure's eight episodes airs next Monday (July 24) on BBC Two as she travels to the Peak District.
