Bake Off: The Professionals crowns its winners of 2019

Bake Off: The Professionals has crowned its winner of 2019, after three teams fought it out in a tightly contested final.

For the first time in the competition, judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden set two challenges for the finalists.

In the first challenge, they were given four hours to create a highly decorated afternoon tea, and in the second, they had a whopping seven hours to create a mammoth wedding feast.

And in the end, it was the team of Thibault and Erica who emerged victorious, despite failing to impress the judges with one of their wedding cakes.

Thibault and Erica were up against Sarah and Leyre, and Nelson and Evaldas.

The victorious couple wowed the judges over the course of the competition with their artistic creations, and in tonight's final, one of their desserts was even described by Blin as "one of the best we've ever seen in this competition".

On their win, Thibault said he wouldn't have been in the final if it wasn't for Erica, who added: "The passion is just in you. Pasty is love."
