Great British Bake Off champion Candice Brown has switched piping for pints, revealing that she's about to become the landlady of a Bedfordshire pub.

(We didn't exactly need an excuse to go to the pub, but a Bake Off winner in charge of the bar and kitchen is a good one, right?)

Speaking to The Sun, Candice – who won the series in 2016 – revealed that she and her family have bought an "incredible" pub in Eversholt called The Green Man.

You won't be able to pop in and get served by Candice just yet, but the former teacher has promised she'll be "doing a bit of everything" when the traditional boozer opens.

The pub is currently undergoing "a refurb", with Candice also confirming that "recipe development" is under way – which we hope includes a tribute to Mary Berry.

"It will be a good old fashioned pub, good pub grub, warming and hearty," she said. "A resurgence in the things we miss about our old pubs."

Clearly excited to get behind the bar, Candice also revealed her plans to channel EastEnders. "I get to be Peggy [Mitchell]!" she joked.

Just don't kick us out of your pub, Candice, and we'll be grand.

The Great British Bake Off will return for a Stand Up to Cancer special this spring on Channel 4.
