If you've been missing some Nadiya in your life recently (haven't we all?), then you're in luck as the Great British Bake Off winner has been given a brand new cooking show on the BBC.

Nadiya's British Food Adventure will follow the star around the UK as she visits a different region per episode, searching for great examples of British food.

The programme will be in eight parts, and will take the 2015 Bake Off winner everywhere from the Scottish Highlands to Devon.

"Our country's regional cuisine is much more than tried and tested traditional dishes - there are quirky and clever food producers out there who are reinventing British food in unique and exciting ways," Nadiya said.

"I can't wait to meet these local food heroes, to find inspiration in the most unusual food stories and unlikely ingredients and then come up with some brand new recipes in the kitchen, adding my own special twist."

She previously was the subject of a two-part show exploring her culinary roots in Bangladesh called The Chronicles of Nadiya, which aired last year.

Everyone fell in love with the baker when she triumphed on Bake Off a year and a half ago, and the win was so emotional that Mary Berry recently declared it her favourite moment on the show.

"I think the one that Nadiya won was the greatest one from Bake Off," she told Digital Spy. "She had achieved so much. She was very young, and she'd worked very hard. And she had her family behind her."

Bake Off is due to move over to Channel 4, although only Paul Hollywood is travelling with it for the next series. When asked for her thoughts on the move, Nadiya recently suggested that the show could become a Top Gear-esque flop as a result of the transfer.

"It certainly won't be the same Bake Off, it's going to change the whole Bake Off that we know, that I know," she said.

"The one problem with humans is that we don't like change, and the second you change something that we love, people freak out a little bit. I think Brexit got less coverage!"

Nadiya added: "They are going to change the format to get adverts in between but I still love Bake Off and I will still watch Bake Off when it's on Channel 4.

"I might just watch the first series just to criticise a little bit. We just don't want a repetition of Top Gear, do we?"
