Ballymena crash involving car and tractor leaves woman with serious injuries

A woman has been taken to hospital with “serious” injuries after a crash involving a car and a tractor.

Police say the injured woman was a passenger in a Honda Jazz that was involved in a collision with the tractor outside Ballymena on Saturday (November 9).

The PSNI is “appealing for information following a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision at the Lisnevenagh Road area of Ballymena”.

Inspector McClelland said: “Shortly before 5:15pm, it was reported that a tractor and a silver coloured Honda Jazz car were involved in the incident. A female passenger of the car was taken to hospital for injuries which are described as serious. The driver of the tractor was also taken to hospital for his injuries, which are not believed to be serious.

“The Lisnevenagh Road Ballymena-bound was closed but has reopened following the collision. Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage available, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 1183 09/11/24.”
