Ballymena dog rescue closes after 'year of struggle'

A dog rescue that helped rehome mostly Bull breeds including XL Bulldogs, has closed.

The Half Way House in Ballymena place the announcement on their social media feeds on May 29.

They said: "Notice of closure. We will not to taking in any more dogs and will only be working now to rehome dogs already in our care.

"Any fundraising or appeals will be going towards paying off any accumulated debts such as vet bills."

Hundreds of people responded to the news and were told: "It has been a struggle this year as a whole and I’d love to see a light at the end of the tunnel but it’s not looking great."
