Bancroft actress Sarah Parish has revealed that she has been admitted to a hospital in Turkey after suffering a "nasty fall".

The star, who has also appeared in Mistresses and Cutting It, has recently been holidaying in Turkey with her husband, actor James Murray, and their daughter, Nell, but their time away has taken an unfortunate turn after Sarah had an accident, leaving her with a broken rib and fractured spine.

The actress shared a selfie from her hospital bed on Instagram, writing: "A broken rib?? No, no, that's not enough for this f**k wit. Let's pop in to the equation a nasty fall on a very hard surface resulting in a fractured spine.

Sarah previously suffered a serious accident in 2018 when she broke her leg in a sledging accident, after which she had a pin put into her shin.

"Note to self: cheap plastic sledges are for sitting in and gently trundling down primary slopes NOT a substitute for a stand up snowboard," she wrote on Instagram at the time while sharing the news of her accident.

Thriller series Bancroft aired two seasons on ITV but will not return for a third run. Sarah starred in the show as Detective Chief Superintendent Elizabeth Bancroft, a haunted police officer who is hiding explosive secrets.
