Bands Entertain Nighttime Voters as Polls Close in Weslaco, Texas

Mariachi bands played music for nighttime voters at a parking lot in Weslaco, Texas, on November 3, during the last hour before polls closed.

La Unión Del Pueblo Entero (LUPE), a non-profit organization, was working to protect the vote on Tuesday at Weslaco City Hall in Hidalgo County, Margarita Rodriguez Garcia told Storyful.

The voting line was extra long and fights were regularly taking place, according to Blanca Quintanilla, who is seen in the video working on site for LUPE.
