NatWest's mobile banking app has crashed, leaving customers locked out of their accounts during the weekend.

More than 1,000 customers have reported problems on outage tracker Down Detector as they scramble to access their money.

Angry customers have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to demand answers from the bank, which serves over 19 million people across Britain.

One user wrote: "@Natwest your app isnt working - what is the eta for it to be back on line."

Another said: "NatWest app is down again, please report it to your IT teams. This is happening too frequently."

A third added: "@NatWest_Help can you sort out your app? It's becoming annoying now."

The bank has admitted there is "no timescale" for fixing the problem, saying only that "the team will be working to resolve this ASAP."

This latest tech meltdown follows similar outages in October, August and May - dealing another blow to NatWest's push toward digital banking as it continues to slash its high street presence.
