Banks takes fans to The Altar with raunchy show at London's Roundhouse

Jillian Rose Banks aka Banks just wrapped up her UK and European tour at London’s iconic music venue The Roundhouse and we were the lucky ones to be there.

The singer-songwriter released her second album ‘The Altar’ last September and delighted the eclectic crowd with a mix from her latest musical offering and her hit 2014 record ‘Goddess’. She opened with new track ‘Poltergeist’ and followed it with ‘F**k With Myself,’ before steadily building up to fan favourite ‘Waiting Game’ and moodier tunes ‘This Is What It Feels Like’ and ‘Weaker Girl’.

Wearing a black leather corset, Banks mixed her pitch-perfect harmonies with distorted vocals and danced throughout her show. It seems she’s found her inner tiny dancer; in the past she’s kept notably still during performances. She enthusiastically joined in with her two female backing dancers when they swayed and body popped to her tracks.

The rising star spoke to the buzzing crowd – who sang along to her biggest hits – as stalked along the stage. She told them: “My music starts as a melodic chant, and that chant starts as one suitable one and that turns into a sentence and it becomes a constant that I needed to express, and it turns into music. I wanted to show you guys how that works.”

Banks will perform at Coachella next month and take a well earned break before hitting the road in the states; kicking off her America tour on June 2nd at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia and stopping in Boston, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Columbus along the way. Tickets are now on sale via Banks’ website.
