Banksy artwork in Kyiv protected by new security measures after attempted theft

After the attempted theft of one of Banksy's murals in Kyiv, the local government has implemented a new security system to keep the artwork safe and on display when damaged buildings are reconstructed.Four sites in the capital of Ukraine have been put behind protective glass, while security guards also patrol areas to prevent future looting. "Our position is that every single Banksy work should remain on the site as it is, in its original form," Oleh Torkunov, deputy head of Kyiv regional military administration, said. The art will remain, even though authorities are planning to reconstruct the original buildings.
