Are you ready for it? Swifties from Scotland and around the world will soon be descending on Edinburgh for the much-anticipated Eras Tour shows.

Taylor Swift's three Edinburgh concerts kick off Friday and fans are making last minute plans, finalising impressive outfits and packing their bags. One practical issue on the forefront of concert-goers' minds is what exactly they should - and shouldn't - bring.

Fans know All Too Well that gigs this size will have rules all fans need to follow. So make sure your bags are Safe & Sound and check out the official banned items list provided by Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

What are you not allowed to bring to the Edinburgh Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert?

Murrayfield Stadium was chosen to host Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Scotland. They emphasise: "All bags no matter the size, will be searched prior to entry."

One thing to note is that Murrayfield does not have bag drop facilities at the stadium or in close proximity. That means attendees with larger bags will need to take them away and deposit them in a safe place before entering the stadium.

According to the venue, the following items are prohibited:

  • Bags larger than A4 (30cm x 21cm) – Unless for Medical or Childcare, or the VIP Merchandise Official Tote Bags. Any Medical or Childcare bags are to be directed to designated search lanes where they will be searched and tagged before entry.

  • Knives, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items – including aerosol sprays

  • Food or alcohol purchased externally (unless required for medical purposes)

  • Glass bottles or drinks cans

  • Hip flasks, metal drinks bottles, thermos flasks or hard cased refillable water bottles Please note soft, collapsible reusable water bottles will be permitted into the venue (up to 500ml)

  • Sealed/unsealed plastic drink bottles
