In keeping with tradition, Barack Obama has shared his annual list of his favourite songs from the past 12 months.

The former US president named tracks by artists including Waxahatchee, J Cole, HER, Hope Tala, Bruce Springsteen and Little Simz among his best-loved.

“Here are some of my favourite songs of the year,” Obama wrote on Twitter.

As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”
