Barbara Windsor broke down in tears as she described her final scenes as Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders.
Dame Barbara, 78, in the BBC soap for 22 years, says she also cried making her last episode.
Talking to ITV’s Good Morning Britain, the actress, below and pictured meeting the Queen on the set of EastEnders, said: “I did my crying afterwards.
“Peggy’s quite tough and I hope people will accept the way I played her with cancer.”
Peggy’s death will be broadcast next week, with Ross Kemp returning as her TV son Grant Mitchell for the scenes.
Producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins said: “Barbara gives the performance of her life. The last episode will break your heart.”
