Barcelona Police Crack Down on COVID-19 Public Space Violations

More than 5500 people were removed from public spaces in Barcelona for violating COVID-19 restrictions during a joint police operation that ran into the early hours of May 30, local media reported.

This footage by Edorta Moreno shows large crowds being dispersed from Barceloneta Beach and a nearby street.

The operation was conducted by officers of Barcelona’s municipal police force, Guardia Urbana, and Catalonia’s autonomous police service, Mossos d’Esquadra, Spanish media said. Two arrests were reported. Credit: @EdortaMoreno via Storyful
