Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is under the spotlight again after another desperate display in the Catalans' 8-2 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich.

Suarez was the only Barcelona player to score (their first arrived via a David Alaba own goal) in the quarter-final clash in Lisbon, with the Uruguayan giving the Blaugrana brief hope as he brought it back to 4-2 early in the second half.

But the 33-year-old's lack of movement and pressing allowed Bayern plenty of freedom to play the ball out unchallenged in defence and after the game, a sorry statistic emerged.

The former Liverpool forward played just 24 passes in his 90 minutes on the pitch and of those, nine were at kick-off (once at the start of the match and eight times after each Bayern goal).

Suarez's performance raises serious question marks over his future at Camp Nou and highlights just why Barcelona have made Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez their top transfer target this summer.

The Uruguayan's goal was his first away from Camp Nou in the Champions League since 2015, but he has still not scored in an away fixture since his strike in the 1-1 draw at Roma almost five years ago.
