Barcelona vs Tottenham: Predicted line-ups for tonight’s Champions League clash

Tottenham need a result at the Camp Nou tonight, but it looks like they will have to topple a Lionel Messi-lead Barcelona to do so.

Barca boss Ernesto Valverde will make some changes to his side for tonight’s Champions League clash, but despite first place in Group B already confirmed, it looks unlikely that Messi will be rested.

Valverde himself would not reveal whether he would hand the Argentine a rest tonight, saying he did not know whether the Argentine would start “two games in three days” following his recent injury layoff.

If Messi does start, it is likely to be in the role of false nine, with Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho either side of him, with Luis Suarez being handed a break tonight.

Arthur is back from injury and could return in midfield, while there may also be an opportunity for some of the young players like Carles Alena and Juan Miranda.

Jasper Cillessen is set to start in goal instead of Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are set to operate with a 4-3-3 tonight which will see Kyle Walker-Peters start at right-back with Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier both ruled out.

Erik Lamela is available for selection following thigh injury, but is only expected to make Mauricio Pochettino’s bench.
