Barcelona vs Tottenham
Champions League 2018-19
Venue: Camp Nou
Kick-off: 8pm, December 11

Tottenham go into their final match of the group stages knowing that their fate is entirely in their own hands.

The only problem is, however, that they face the unenviable task of needing a result against Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi inspired Barca to a 4-2 victory over Spurs when these sides met at Wembley Stadium earlier in the campaign, and Spurs head to Catalonia knowing that they must better Inter Milan’s result against PSV to progress to the knock-out stages.

Team News

Ernesto Valverde will be without Malcom on Tuesday night with the Brazilian forward ruled out with a sprained ankle.

The 21-year-old joins Rafinha (cruciate), Sergi Roberto (hamstring), Samuel Umtiti (knee) and Arthur (knee) on the sidelines.

Mauricio Pochettino, meanwhile, is facing a major selection headache at right-back ahead of the trip to the Camp Nou with both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier doubts for the final group match.

England full-back Trippier is not expected to travel having suffered a recurrence of a groin injury with Aurier forced off late on in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Leicester.

It means the Kyle Walker-Peters is likely to start at right back.

Elsewhere, Erik Lamela is struggling with a thigh injury, while Davinson Sanchez, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele are all out.

Head to Head
