The Barras is now home to The Crumbleologist – Scotland’s first crumble bar
One of Scotland's top street food specialists has been welcomed by the Barras - meaning food fans have another excuse to head there.
The Crumbleologist, which recently competed at the Scottish Street Food Awards, is Scotland's "first crumble bar" and is bringing its imaginative offering to London Road.
Taking to Instagram to proudly announce the new arrival, the Barras social media team wrote: "Did you know we’re now home to Scotland’s first crumble bar! Find them over at London Road and try out either their apple, rhubarb or cherry options. And take full advantage of that custard!"

Open Saturday and Sunday, 10 am until 4 pm, the team offers gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free crumble recipes, which are a tribute to their granny's traditional shortbread crumble. They proudly state that their custard is velvety, creamy, and bursting with flavour, but "without a drop of dairy in sight".
Speaking about their offering online at the recent British Street Food Awards, co-founder Alan said: “We believe we serve up the best street food-style Fruit Crumble dishes. All our dishes are gluten-free and plant-based — but you’d never know.
"We have two signature crumbles - if we don’t have them available our customers have something to say. The first is our Apple Blackberry Gin; and the second is our Cherry Amerato. Both topped with our Traditional Shortbread Crumble then covered with our original recipe Custard and finished with a host of sprinkles."
You can check them out now, and can also grab a coffee or a tea, before picking your fruit filling, topping it with crumble and watching on as they pour custard all over it. Yum. We'll see you there.
