Barry Chuckle died after secretly battling bone cancer for years, his brother Jimmy has revealed.

The iconic comedian and one half of the brother duo The Chuckle Brothers, real name Barry Elliott, had been performing in pantomimes up to last year and was even tipped to join Celebrity Big Brother this month.

Barry Chuckle was one half of the Chuckle Brothers.

Barry’s older brother, Jimmy Patton told The Sun: “We are all devastated. Barry had bone cancer which had spread to his lungs. He was ill for years, but kept it hidden.

We knew about it, but kept it quiet, and all the family are really hurting right now.”

Patton paid tribute to his brother and said that brother Paul was taking the loss particularly ‘hard’:

“Barry loved being on stage, he loved being on TV – he loved people in general. Barry in real life was just like the character he played on the TV and in theatres.”

Paul was closest to Barry you see and he is devastated, we all are – It’s very sad.”
