Baseball Fans Run for Cover as Downpour Delays Game in Minneapolis
A Major League Baseball game was delayed by a sudden downpour and strong winds that hit Minneapolis’s Target Field on June 9, as the Minnesota Twins waited to take on the New York Yankees.
This footage, posted to Twitter by Eric Block, shows fans ducking for cover and debris flying around the ballpark as strong winds lifted up a tarp covering the infield.
Block told Storyful that the rain lasted about five minutes and postponed the start of the game an additional 10 minutes. He had posted another video 30 minutes prior showing sunny blue skies surrounding the stadium.
Reports show that a rainbow quickly formed immediately after the downpour.
