Royals manager Ned Yost announced Tuesday before Game 1 in Kansas City against the San Francisco Giants that right-hander Jeremy Guthrie will start Game 3 and left-hander Jason Vargas will pitch Game 4 on Saturday and Sunday in San Francisco. - - The Royals made a minor last-minute change to their World Series roster before Game 1 on Tuesday, adding Jayson Nix in place of Christian Colon.
