A Basildon motorist has been banned from the roads after she was caught drink driving on a major road.

Shirley Ward, of Wickford Avenue, Basildon, was caught driving on the A13 with 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on July 29 2022, Basildon Magistrates' Court heard.

The legal limit is 35.

The 27-year-old denied the offence but was found guilty on January 16 and has been fined £270.

She must also pay prosecution costs of £620 and has been banned from driving for 20 months.
