Bashinter delivered a glowing verdict on his very enthusiastic Newcastle crowd calling them 'the best party people in the North,' after he took to the stage at the Noughty 90s festival in the city on Saturday.

More than 16 years have now passed since the dance icon topped the charts the world over with smash hit Now You're Gone, which he then followed up with singles like All I Ever Wanted, Angel in the Night and Every Morning. He was one of the biggest names on the dance stage at Noughty 90s in Leazes Park which, after a week of mixed weather and cooler temperatures, was thankfully bathed in sunshine for the thousands who headed along.

Towards the end of a set that included all hit hits, Basshunter recorded a video for his Instagram, in which he told his legions of fans: "Ladies and gentlemen we are in Newcastle," before addressing the large crowd in front of him and adding: "And now, to the best party party people in the North...1, 2...1,2,3,4!" as the crescendo of Now You're Gone blasted out.

In the next video to be posted on his Insta story, the ex Celebrity Big Brother contestant revealed that he'd 'gatecrashed' the set from Pretty Green Eyes hitmakers Ultrabeat, before then taking the time to pose for selfies with fans.

Other act on the line-up for Noughty 90s festival on Saturday included headliners B*Witched, ex Pop Idol star Gareth Gates and boyband East 17, who performed with just one original member as they entertained with a set that featured 1994 Christmas number 1, Stay Another Day.
