'Bath Time!': Woman Gives Emus a Hose-Down in Australian Outback

Two famous emus from the Australian outback town of Yaraka, Queensland, were filmed receiving a hose-down on August 25.

In the video shot by Leeanne Byrne, the giant flightless birds, named Kevin and Carol, bask in the sun while they have their “bath”. At one point, Kevin stands up and shakes the water from his feathers, prompting Byrne to say: “Shake like a dog.”

Byrne told Storyful that Kevin and Carol were “very inquisitive” and “love to know what I’m doing,” adding that they were “always happy.”

In July, the emus received national coverage after they were banned from Yaraka’s local pub. Credit: Leeanne Byrne via Storyful
