Batmobile rolls up in Bacup as car lovers flock to motoring extravaganza
Hundreds of car enthusiasts flocked to a Classic and Performance Car Show featuring a Batmobile.
The Bacup Now Classic and Performance Car Show returned for the fifth year on Irwell Terrace in the centre of Bacup. There were around 500 visitors who had the opportunity to see real classics in immaculate condition, some reminiscing from bygone days.
The show featured a Batmobile that took prime spot on the Terrace and was incredibly popular with children and adults alike. Rossendale Radio provided music.

Show organiser Barry Hyde, Chair of the Bacup Now Community Group, says exhibitors seem to like the relaxed atmosphere of the show with no fees or prizes, just a chance for owners to chat with fellow enthusiasts and have a brew and a burger and welcome visitors to view their classic and performance cars.
He said: “I was so pleased with the turnout despite some typical Bacup weather, with many exhibitors wishing to return next year.
“The Batmobile, provided by RBC, was a real feature and drew more people to the show, especially children.”
The show is being planned again for August 2025.
