Battersea crash: Man injured in smash involving two sports cars after 'police chase' on busy south London high street
A moped rider has been “seriously injured” in a crash involving two sports cars following a suspected police chase in south London.
Emergency services rushed to Queenstown Road, Battersea, just before 9am on Saturday to reports of a “serious crash”.
Scotland Yard said the moped rider had suffered a leg injury after colliding with a car.
It is believed the crash happened during a police pursuit, a spokesman for the Met Police said.
Dramatic images posted on social media showed the road taped off between Lavender Hill and Battersea Park Road.

One of the cars appears to be an Aston Martin.
A3216 Queenstown Road is closed in both directions btwn Lavender Hill and Battersea Park Rd, this is due to a serious collision.

Richard Davis said: “Lots of police and helicopters, they have shut Queenstown Road between Battersea and Lavender Hill. I hope no one is hurt #Battersea.”
Another user added: “Something’s gone down on Queenstown Road. Fire engines, police, road blocked off, helicopters.”
