Batwoman star Javicia Leslie is returning to TV with an upcoming procedural drama, which is currently in the works over at ABC.

Based on TF1's detective series HPI (High Intellectual Potential), Deadline reports the untitled show will follow Morgan (played by It's Always Sunny's Kaitlin Olson) as a single mother who helps the police solve a seemingly unsolvable crime by rearranging some evidence during her shift as a cleaner.

When they find she has a talent for organising things, Morgan is hired as a consultant to work with Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), a seasoned detective, and together they create quite the duo.

Leslie will play the role of Daphne, though further details about the character haven't been revealed just yet.

What we do know though is that Drew Goddard will write the series, Alethea Jones will direct and executive produce, and Rob Thomas will serve as showrunner.

The new show marks the third iteration of this story, as TF1's HPI was inspired by the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, which was created by Alice Chegaray-Breugnot.

Leslie is probably best known for her titular role in The CW's Batwoman, but fans were left heartbroken last year when it was cancelled after three seasons.

We may not have seen the last of her in the Arrowverse though, as the actress admitted she would return to the role in a heartbeat, whether it be in a Batwoman revival or another Arrowverse project.

"If my schedule allows it, I'm always down to play in Gotham," she told Digital Spy last year. "I mean, Batwoman is a part of my fibre at this point. It's a part of my fabric.

"I think the most amazing part is, that was a character that we created. It's not something I have to play into, it's something that we created out of our own spirit and our own souls."

Batwoman aired on The CW in the US and E4 in the UK.
