Bay Area Residents Flock to Beach During Heatwave

Bay Area residents enjoyed a day at the beach on October 5, during a record-breaking heatwave.

Shreenivasan Manievannan filmed this footage showing the scene at Sharp Park Beach in Pacifica on Saturday.

“The cold beaches in the Bay Area, known for its foggy, wet, cold weather, [were] experiencing one of the longest heat waves in history,” Manievannan said.

“The public took to the beaches to cool down, making it look like a tropical beaches in Florida,” he added.

The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of hazardous heat and told residents to “exercise heat safety if outside.”
