Bay Area Welcomes November Rain

Nearly an inch of rain fell in parts of the drought-stricken San Francisco Bay Area on Tuesday, November 1, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Up to 0.89 inches (22.6 mm) of rain fell in the Bay Area by midday, according to NWS preliminary records.

Video posted by Twitter user @LisaSteiner_ELS, which they said was filmed on Tuesday in El Sobrante, shows rain falling from overcast skies. The user said, “We’re finally getting some real rain.”

The NWS warned a “cold front from the northwest” could also bring “gusty and erratic winds” to the coastal area on Tuesday. Credit: @LisaSteiner_ELS via Storyful
