Yahoo News BB's Charlotte: Too many 'reality star' housemates
Evicted housemate Charlotte Keys has suggested that this series of Big Brother cast too many people who had appeared in other reality TV shows.
A number of housemates this year – including Lotan Carter, Chanelle McCleary, Kayleigh Morris, Ellie Young, Sam Chaloner, Kieran Lee, Arthur Fulford and Rebecca Jane – have featured on the small screen before.
Three of them showed up on Ex on the Beach, for example.
Charlotte suggested that she's more of a Big Brother purist, saying that she prefers housemates who aren't in it for the fame.
She singled out and accused Chanelle of being the "main culprit".
"I think a lot of people went in there to become famous. That's just not my vibe," she said (via Metro). "I think Chanelle is probably like that in real life, but it was just too much. She could never not attention-seek. She's the main culprit.
"The problem we had was a few of them had previously been on reality TV. They just wanted to up their fame."
But Charlotte said that it wasn't necessarily a problem for her this series – as the semi-famous people were "just Instagram famous".
"It depends what show they've been on," she explained. "That being said, the ones that went on weren't that well known. In terms of fame, they were more just Instagram famous."
Big Brother airs nightly on Channel 5. Earlier today (Wednesday), the two housemates with the least amount of votes to win were treated to a shock backdoor eviction – which will air tomorrow.
