Big Brother is, at its best, a social experiment that allows viewers to observe housemates completely unguarded as they make emotional breakthroughs. That's what viewers saw with Cameron on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old blogger went into the house determined to show the public that teenagers aren't all "sheep who think the world owes them everything" - typical reality telly bravado, in other words.

Very quickly, viewers got to see that wasn't really what Cameron was all about. He was often a voice of reason in the house, offering sensible advice when older housemates lost their heads in petty arguments.

Aside from having an ill-judged go at Kay earlier this week, viewers have really warmed to Cameron, and that continued on Tuesday (September 25) when it became obvious that he was struggling with feelings that he was afraid to let out. Afraid to even say what he was feeling out loud, he asked pal Lewis F for a private chat.

"Is it to do with things that you like?" Lewis F asked.

"Lewis [F], if I speak to you about it, then the whole world will know," Cameron worried, revealing that only five people knew his secret.

"Are you not ready for the world to know that about you?" Lewis F wondered, with Cameron admitting: "I don't really know."

"This is your life," Lewis F encouraged him. "If you're ready to express yourself in a certain way, you do so. The people who love you will accept you for it, in whichever way you do it. No-one's going to go, 'Why didn't you did tell me first?'"

"If I do this in here, it could dramatically impact my time in here," Cameron worried. "There's really only one choice, isn't there?"

The teen then admitted the root of the issue: "I hate f**king change."

"You're not being your true self because you're scared. The greatest prison you can live in is your own mind, and right now you're a prisoner of your own mind," Lewis F told him.

His pep talk went on: "Nobody likes change, but for me, in order to grow you have be in an uncomfortable situation. This is probably the most uncomfortable situation of your life. But to experience it at such a young age, you get to live the rest of your life a free man!

"Free to do whatever you want with whoever you want. No-one's going to think differently of you because you're you, and you don't give a f**k what anybody else thinks! Put everything into consideration, but don't put other people's thoughts into consideration."

"I think you're right," Cameron admitted, with Lewis F assuring him: "Maybe this is why you came here!"

Viewers agree - we could all use a friend like Lewis F:
