BBC Antiques Roadshow guest gasps when told valuation of item he's had stored away in box
A guest on Antiques Roadshow was gobsmacked by the whopping valuation he received for his dad's Blade Runner collection. Fiona Bruce returned to front Sunday's episode of the popular BBC programme.
The latest episode was located at Clissold Park in Stoke Newington as people brought their items to be valued by a range of experts. Expert Jon Baddeley was particular amazed with a guest's extensive collection of memorabilia from the 1982 sci-fi classic.
The guest explained his dad fell in love with the Ridley Scott movie when he re-watched it on VHS. He explained: "This collection belonged to my dad. He saw the film when it came out in the cinema and he wasn't too sure of it himself, but when he saw it on VHS he thought it was great and then he started collecting pieces of memorabilia and posters."
The incredible collection included costume designs, the jacket from composer, Vangelis, and a number of props from the movie. Jon was hugely impressed by the collection and estimated it would be worth between £200,000 - £300,000.

The expert said: "It is a hugely important collection, it's a massively important film. I think if it went to exhibition there'd be many many thousands who would want to come and look at all these items. It's such a cult."
The watching crowd at the antiques fair gasped after they heard the huge valuation. The guest was similarly taken aback, but insisted it would only sell it to a museum to honour his dad's legacy.
He said: "My dad loved this stuff, but unfortunately it's just been kept in boxes because he didn't think anybody would be interested in it. It's been important for us to get it back out there for everybody to enjoy because it's just been nice reconnecting to his passion."
Viewers following the show on social media platform X were also amazed by the huge valuation. @bloodyexhaused said, alongside a shocked emoji: "Guy on the #AntiquesRoadshow with his dad's collection of Blade Runner memorabilia. Value: £200k-300k" Another viewer named Andy added: "HOW MUCH"
