BBC Bargain Hunt expert issues apology after item 'wipes out' team's profit
Bargain Hunt's expert Izzie Balmer and her team faced a crushing setback during Saturday's episode of the popular BBC programme.
The action unfolded in Nottinghamshire, where sisters Yolande and Jeanette were on the hunt for profitable treasures at Newark Showground with a budget of £300.
They eventually settled on a quirky set of four retro chairs, a vintage pair of gloves, and two elegant glass champagne buckets.
Initially, things looked promising as the chairs earned them a tidy £50 profit and the gloves added another £9 to their total.
However, tension mounted as their third item, the champagne coolers which had cost them £95, was about to go under the hammer.
Host Eric Knowles had high hopes, assuring the duo: "We think they're chic, we think they deserve to do well."

Unfortunately, the auction room didn't echo Eric's optimism, and the bids were non-existent starting at £30.
A dismayed Izzie could only utter: "Oh no!"
When the price plummeted to £20, Eric visibly cringed at the low figure.
Ultimately, the coolers sold for just £40, leaving the sisters gasping in disappointment at the poor sale result, reports the Express.
With their profits nearly wiped out, a concerned Yolande remarked: "That's wiped us out. That's a shame."
Despite losing £55 on the coolers, Eric broke the news that they remained in profit, albeit by a mere £4.
During their last shot at earning some cash, it all hinged on expert Izzies talent when she nabbed a bronze horse sculpture for £80.
The tension was palpable during the auction as the opening bid started at only £40.
Eyes were glued to the scene as the price inched up to £50, prompting one team member to remark: "Oh, it does look worth more than that."
As reality set in and the team faced a £30 shortfall, Izzie commented: "I'm sorry ladies!"
Yolande, embracing both the expert and her sister, offered solidarity with: "We're in it together."
Despite a loss of £26, the sisters managed to triumph as the day's victors, outperforming their rivals who concluded the episode down by £30.
