BBC Bargain Hunt expert Stephanie Connell ecstatic as Victorian ring fetches impressive profit

Bargain Hunt's expert Stephanie Connell was seen leaping with joy during Wednesday's episode of the BBC programme.

The antiques specialist was given the task of assisting sisters Natalie and Victoria in locating three items that could turn a profit at auction.

Ultimately, they purchased a vintage Yves Saint Laurent jacket, an old rustic bench, and a Victorian ring set.

Before their items were put up for auction, presenter Danny Sebastian consulted auctioneer Stuart Maule for his opinion.

Commenting on the ring, which was adorned with garnets, Danny referred to the antique as a "lovely piece.", reports the Express.

In agreement, Stuart responded: "I think it's a brilliant piece. Jewellery is always really popular and it's got quality, so that'll help."

Stuart estimated the ring's value between £40 and £60, revealing there had been significant pre-sale interest.

When the BBC host disclosed that the siblings had paid a hefty £185 for it, the auctioneer conceded that while it was a large sum, it could potentially fetch even more.

The red team got off to a fantastic start, with both their items turning a profit before it was time to see what the ring would go for.

Addressing the room, Stuart announced: "I've got lots of interest in this, it's really popular and as such, I can straight in at £200."

Realising they had already made a profit on the item, the sisters were stunned as their expert leapt into the air and clapped excitedly.

As the bids kept coming, Stephanie shouted: "Come on! ".

In a stunning turn of events, the ring fetched an impressive £320 at auction, leaving everyone gobsmacked.

The BBC host couldn't contain their excitement, exclaiming: "Well, well, well. You've just sold it for £320, That is £135 profit."

The team marvelled at the remarkable profit before proceeding to their expert's bonus buy, which netted them an additional £28.

With golden gavels in hand, the team was ecstatic to be declared the winners, having amassed a total profit of an astounding £197.
