BBC Breakfast guest brings interview to halt due to 'concern' for Charlie Stayt
BBC Breakfast has been halted on Thursday after a guest was left alarmed and concerned by Charlie Stayt. The BBC show returned from 6am til 9am on Thursday, as Charlie hosted his first edition of the week, before appearances on Friday and Saturday too.
But a guest labelled Charlie "peaky" during the programme and ground the interview to a halt. Charlie told guest Jenny Eclair he was 'fine' as she questioned if he was well while pointing out that he looked rather 'peaky' on the show.
The 64-year-old Channel 4 Taskmaster star said: "It's really lovely to see you both! I hope you get better because I can see you're a bit peaky." Charlie replied: "I'm absolutely fine!" Turning to Charlie's co-star Naga Munchetty, Jenny said: "He's peaky isn't he?"

Later in the interview, Jenny realised she was wearing the same scarf as in a promo photo displayed during the show. Charlie teased her in reply and cheekily said: "If you come and see us in two years or five years' time, wear the same thing again!"
Jenny asked: "Can you imagine? I'm so embarrassed, not!" It comes weeks after Eclair has admitted she found motherhood 'traumatising' and was 'shocked' to discover she wasn't as maternal as she thought. The comedian, 64, welcomed her daughter Phoebe Powell into the world in 1990 during the height of her career success.
Speaking on Kaye Adams' How To Be 60 podcast, she said: "I presumed I'd be more maternal than I was, I was massively shocked by it. Motherhood is traumatising. I felt very much that I needed to get up that ladder, because I'm very guilty of all my status being wound up in my work; who I am is what I do.
"It's how much work I have, how much money I earn."
