BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent admits 'I'm not sleeping well'
BBC Breakfast's Sally Nugent has sparked concern after admitting to 'not sleeping well'. The TV host discussed sleeping patterns during a segment alongside co-stars Jon Kay and Carol Kirkwood.
Sally, 53, and Jon, 55, began discussing the effects of disrupted sleep and how it can impact your mood. Jon started by asking weather presenter Carol about her sleeping pattern, saying: "Carol, we're about to talk about sleep and the signs of sleep, and the health implications.
"How was your sleep last night?" She went on to say: "Do you know what, I was woken up by the rain. Can you believe that? So it wasn't great."

Carol went on to reveal her strict bedtime routine, saying she usually gets a 'good amount of sleep' each night, Express reports. She added: "Yes, it's not bad. I have a regular routine, so I go to bed about 7 o'clock.
"Which means I get a good amount of sleep, and I keep regular hours as well. So, I'm fortunate I'm not a shift worker in that sense."
Focus then turned to Sally, who admitted she does not go 'to bed early enough'. She said: "Carol is like sleep goals. She's really, really good. I don't go to bed early enough I don't think."
Jon asked Sally how she had been sleeping recently, to which she revealed: "Not sleeping very well. They say it can make you grumpy, I don't think it does."
The co-hosts then jokingly bickered about whether lack of sleep makes you grumpy or not, as Sally insisted it does not impact her mood. Turning to the reason for the discussion, Jon said: "We're talking about this because we all know, despite what Sally says, that a bad night's sleep can affect our mood and our productivity, and there's more evidence this morning about the impact it has on our wider health."
Sleep physician Sriram Iyer then appeared on BBC Breakfast to discuss the new report, which claims failing to stick to a regular bedtime increases the risk of health issues. He revealed people need to tell their body it's 'time to go sleep' and emphasised the importance of keeping a consistent sleep routine.
