BBC Breakfast fans are concerned after Naga Munchetty missed a second show in a row on Saturday. Naga was nowhere to be found on September 28, with Nina Warhurst presenting the programme instead, alongside Charlie Stayt.

Naga, 49, and Charlie, 62, usually host the 6am to 9.30am show from Thursday through to Saturday. But Nina, 43, stepped up to help give the nation the latest news headlines with Naga forced to miss the show for an unexplained reason.

“Absolute delight to see the lovely Nina Warhurst reading the main news,” one fan wrote on Twitter, X, today. "So lovely to see you rising in the broadcasting ranks, Nina. You are absolutely my favourite presenter,” typed a second fan.

It comes amid reports BBC star Naga has been working out this week at an Inverness gym and fitness centre. The presenter has joined regular members at Dan Moore Elite Training this week, amid the 49-year-old's ongoing BBC absence.

The gym posted on social media: “Naga came in on our group sessions, was very fun to chat to & worked hard alongside our regular members. Can’t wait to see you back next time, Naga.” Mr Moore said she went along to the gym with a long-term member she knows and took part in two separate 50-minute training sessions - one led by himself and another by team member Sam Rushforth.

“She really enjoyed it,” Mr Moore said. “A few people recognised her. She spoke to other members and got on great.” Naga was still missing from the show following her absence on Friday today (September 28), leaving some fans concerned.

Nina is no stranger to the red sofas, though, and has already needed to sub in for Sally Nugent several times this month. BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
