BBC Children in Need's Paddy McGuinness' 'mind blown' as he's arrives in Liverpool for special reason
Paddy McGuinness has been flooded with support as he arrived in Merseyside as part of his Children In Need fundraising efforts. The comedian is completing a 300-mile Ultra Endurance Cycle as part of the BBC's annual telethon.
The Radio 2 presenter started off in Wrexham today and is making his way to Glasgow on a custom made chopper bike. Paddy made his way from North Wales into Liverpool today.
The dad-of-three was greeted by children singing Yellow Submarine as on his arrival in the city before he made his way through Merseyside on the way to Moor Park, which is the first checkpoint. The BBC has confirmed Paddy has raised £80,000 on his first day of the challenge.
Paddy was interviewed by fellow BBC presenter, Jeremy Vine, as he was on the ferry across the Mersey as he reflected on the support he had received so far. He was visibly emotional as he said: "I can't think of a section where someone wasn't out. It's absolutely mind blowing."

He added: "It really took me aback." Paddy explained the toughest part of the challenge is going to be if his makeshift chopper stays up to the challenge.
He said: "When I've been training, bits and bats keep breaking on it and the gears keep going. But we've got a fantastic team of people and mechanics from Raleigh making sure the bike is oiled up.
"I feel confident. It's just been nice. Even when I've been tired. People, especially children outside schools have been painting pictures. It just warms the cockles of your soul."
People took to the comments to praise Paddy as he continues his mammoth cycle. Janice said: "Go on, PADDY, you've got this." Caroline added: "Amazing work - keep going all the way!"
