Rochelle Humes previously opened up about the 'complicated' relationship with her sister who she didn't see for almost two decades. The BBC Hit List star, who is back presenting Children in Need tonight, is married to JLS star Marvin. But he's not the only famous member of her family.

Rochelle's sister Sophie Piper rose to fame when she appeared on ITV hit dating show Love Island back in 2020, and then the spin-off series in South Africa. The striking likeness between Sophie and her older sister Rochelle Humes, former member of The Saturdays and television presenter, owes itself to their shared parentage with Jamaican-born Mark Piper.

Rochelle had a childhood marred by abandonment when her father left her and her paramedic mother Roz Wiseman at the tender age of three. Mark later welcomed Sophie into the world with another partner, alongside two other siblings, Lili and Jake.

In heartfelt confessions, Sophie has previously delved into the complexities of her dynamic with Rochelle, admitting to a past where they had no contact during her upbringing. But, in the years leading up to her winter stint on Love Island in 2020, Sophie spoke of a heartwarming reconnection with Rochelle, thanks in part to a serendipitous reintroduction by Kem Cetinay, Love Island champion from 2017.

Sophie previously told MailOnline: "There was a period where we weren't in contact. It was weird growing up not knowing Rochelle but since we have spoken we speak every day so it is nice all of us being in each other's lives now.

"My middle sister Lili went to school with Kem so that's how we know him. Obviously he was at the same school as me. It's funny how it's all linked together."

Rochelle opened up on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy mum Happy Baby podcast about the emotional moment she met her three younger siblings for the first time. Speaking on the podcast, she recounted a surprising encounter that led to a family reunion: "I've never told anyone this before. Two years ago, I was at our management's Christmas party and Love Island's Kem was there.

"He was chatting away and said, 'I got to talk to you... as soon as I became a celeb, I promised my friend Lili that I would talk to you as she's your sister on your dad's side. I knew of her and met up with her when I was five, but it was so complicated as they were a lot younger and my dad wasn't involved."

She added: "She WhatsApped me and I didn't reply till the morning. We planned to go out for dinner with my other sister and brother and I made Marvin come with me because I was so scared." The This Morning star shared her initial nerves and the surprise at their similarities: "We are literally the same people, Marvin was like, 'OMG, there's more of you.'"

Having no contact for nearly two decades did nothing to hinder the bond between Rochelle and Sophie, who now shares an incredibly close relationship.
