A fresh reality TV show is set to hit the BBC. 'Stranded on Honeymoon Island' is a unique dating programme that pairs up singletons who've had no luck in love and leaves them stranded on an island.

The show is the brainchild of CPL Productions, the award-winning production company behind popular series such as Married At First Sight UK, Love Is Blind UK and A League Of Their Own. The UK version of Stranded on Honeymoon Island will be the first, following successful broadcasts in Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, with a commission also in Australia.

Scheduled for broadcast in 2025, this new dating show is far from ordinary, featuring 12 contestants in total. Six couples, matched by experts, will commit to each other in an intimate ceremony before being left on a secluded island for the ultimate relationship test and adventure.

With limited resources, the couples must live together and fend for themselves, pushing their budding romances to the limit. The BBC teased: "Marooned and alone, they must communicate and collaborate to get by, with nowhere to run when the going gets tough. Will an escape from modern life bring them closer together or push them apart? Will it lead to love or loathing?"

Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC's Head of Entertainment, has expressed excitement over a new dating show format coming to the broadcaster. "We are thrilled to be bringing this dating reality format to the BBC. This unique new dating series will see couples who have previously been unlucky in love being paired up and sent straight on their honeymoon with no phone, no apps and no contact with the outside world - let's see if they can make it work on their desert island and find love.", reports the Mirror.

The call is now open for applicants who wish to experience love in an unusual way on Stranded on Honeymoon Island.
