Danny Dyer, famed for his role as Mick Carter on EastEnders, has given fans the biggest hint yet that he might be returning to the iconic soap.

At the star-studded National Television Awards 2024, broadcast live, Danny whipped the audience into a frenzy when he pondered aloud about making a dramatic return to Albert Square.

Reaching out to his former castmates in the crowd, Danny expressed how much he missed them. The atmosphere electrified when he teased the possibility of a comeback, exclaiming: "Bring Mick back! " His words were met with cheers and applause from his EastEnders family and the rest of the attendees, while he playfully shrugged off his own suggestion.

Fueling rumors of his return, he affectionately said to his friends: "I love you, I miss you. Bring Mick back, do you think they should bring Mick back? " Fans at home watching the NTAs were quick to take to social media, urging showrunner Chris Clenshaw to orchestrate Mick's return.

Social media was abuzz with viewers echoing Danny's call to action, with one fan writing: "BRING MICK BACK YOU HEARD HIM CLENSHAW.", reports the Mirror.

Another chimed in with: "BRING MICK BACK," and a third confidently asserted: "Danny Dyer saying 'bring Mick back' basically confirms Mick will come back during the 40th anniversary live episode 100%."

With the soap's 40th anniversary on the horizon next year, fans are speculating that Danny's remarks signal a major comeback. One viewer speculated: "We've got to be getting a little teaser reveal of Mick alive - wherever he is - in February 2025. Bit of amnesia, him living with some other name.."

Eagle-eyed EastEnders enthusiasts noticed a stir when Danny Dyer jokingly suggested his character Mick Carter should return, provoking a reaction from his on-screen wife, actress Kellie Bright prompting one viewer to post: "Kellie's reaction to Dan saying 'bring Mick back' like she's discussing it."
