Paul Martin will be fronting not one but two new daytime shows, following the axing of long-running antiques show Flog It! after 17 years on screens.

The first episode of Make Me A Dealer aired yesterday as part of the BBC One’s reshuffle of its daytime scheduling, in which he teaches wannabe antiques buffs the tricks of the trade.

But he’ll also be presenting a new antiques-based game show next year too, it’s emerged.

Curiosity will be a studio show in which antiques experts will pit their knowledge against each other for the chance of a £1000 prize.

Martin told The Sun: “It’s two teams using their skill and intuition. It’s against-the-clock and they’ve got to answer questions on antiques, on collectables, on history, on all things vintage.

“They’ve also got to complete tasks in room sets, dating decades. And then they battle it out and the winners take home £1,000.

“It’s really unpredictable, it’s crazy, it’s oozing with fun. It’s going to be one of the best shows on BBC TV.”

The axing of Flog It! was announced in October, after more than 1000 episodes.

But Martin added that he hoped it could return in some format in the future.

“Secretly I’m thinking maybe there’ll be some specials or some Children In Need ones or a celebrity Flog It!,” he went on.

“It’s down to the channel really and I can’t make those decisions. I’m kind of missing it already. It’s 18 years of my life.”
